Spence Palermo
Singer Songwriter Performer
Rockin'the PNW Since 1973
Spence Palermo is a Singer, Songwriter and Storyteller whose musical roots in Oregon reach back to 1974 and the mid-Willamette Valley's favorite "One Hit Wonder Band", Blackhawk County. The Band's regional hit single, "Oregon I Can't Go Home" stayed at # 1 on Portland AM radio (Remember AM radio?) for six weeks during the
summer of 1974 and reached #16 on the national
Billboard charts. Local success led to extensive
touring and an original album (Remember those?)
of original rock and country songs.
l
Palermo’s passion for Americana and Roots music simmered on the
back burner while earning degrees in Film Production and Romance Languages from the
University of Oregon and pursuing a successful 30+ year career as an international documentary
filmmaker
Since 2010 Palermo has
been enjoying playing,
performing, writing and
recording an eclectic blend of
Americana Blues, Roots, Rockabilly, Country and unplugged rock and soul classics. Drawing
from a deep and ever evolving song bag that spans the last 50 years.
Palermo’s passion for the music and the people
who enjoy it is evident as he continues to entertain audiences in cafes,
coffee houses, pubs, wineries and festivals across Oregon.
Palermo brings his worldwide experiences and his love of storytelling to every performance, and
to his original songs. The songwriting is fueled by the real stories of real people all over the planet
is inspired by his ongoing love affair with Oregon, it’s places and people.
Garnering inspiration from the PNW lifestyle, from riding the trails
of theNez Perce in the Wallow Mountains to sailing the San Juan
Islands, of Puget Sound, the flavor and soul of the Pacific Northwest is
always at the heart of the music and is
hopefully conveyed through the songs.
