Spence Palermo's EPK

Spence Palermo is a singer, songwriter and storyteller, whose musical roots in Oregon reach back to 1974 and the mid-Willamette Valley’s favorite “One Hit Wonder Band”,   Blackhawk County, The band’s regional hitsingle, “Oregon I Can’t Go Home” stayed at # 1 on Portland AM radio for several weeks in the summer of 1974, reached #16 on the national Billboard charts. Local success led to extensive touring  and multiple musical collaborations throughout The Pacific NW, The Rocky Mt. States, Canada and Hawaii

Since 2010 Palermo has been enjoying playing and performing as a solo singer/songwriter performing an eclectic blend of Americana Blues, Rockabilly, Country and unplugged Rock and Soul classics from a deep and ever evolving song bag that spans the last 50 years as well as a refreshing assortment of original tunes that span these same genres.

Palermo’s passion for the music and the people who enjoy it is evident as he continues to entertain audiences in cafes, coffee houses, pubs, wineries and festivals across Oregon. 

 

His songwriting is fueled by his international experience in over 30 countries as a documentary filmmaker, years of touring the American West and his ongoing love affair with Oregon, it’s places and people. This rich stew of musical styles, personal experiences and gifted storytelling simmered in and seasoned by the NW lifestyle make for a tasty evening of entertainment.
